1 Find your rhythm

Tap on your drum, table, or guitar to get a rhythm going. Record it or just keep it in your head for now.

2 Add chords over it

Sing or play chords over your rhythm. Ukulele or piano are great to start — guitar comes later. Even 2–3 chords is enough.

3 Find the melody

Play your rhythm and chords, then hum or sing nonsense syllables over it. Go by feel — the melody will come. Count the syllables per line.

4 Build your song structure

Add the sections of your song. Most songs start simple — verse, chorus, verse, chorus. You can always add more later.

5 Write lyrics

Fill in real words that match your syllable count. Write about a feeling, a moment, a person. Don't worry about perfection — just get ideas down.

6 Annotate chords & melody

Tap any syllable to add chords above and melody notes below. This becomes your Noted Tab.
